French beauty company L’Oréal is set to launch a beauty-tech centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, in November 2026.
The decision came after discussions between L’Oréal’s top management and a delegation from the state government during the World Economic Forum (WEF 2026).

Reutersreported that the group will invest more than Rs35bn ($383.4m) in the facility, which is being positioned as a global base for innovation, technology, data and supply-chain operations.
The centre is expected to underpin L’Oréal’s worldwide programmes in digital transformation, AI and analytics, and to generate 2,000 technology roles by 2030.
In November 2025, L’Oréal said it would set up one of its largest global capability centres (GCCs) in Hyderabad, separate from its Indian research operations in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
At the time, the company stated that the site would support global technology, innovation and research activities for the group, and that it had begun searching for senior executives for the project, including candidates from its Paris headquarters.

By GlobalDataL’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said the group was pleased to proceed with the development and that “tech solutions generated from the Hyderabad GCC will be supplied to our facilities all around the world”.
In a Facebook post, the Telangana delegation led by chief minister A Revanth Reddy said the project would take the form of a GCC focused on beauty technology.
Telangana IT minister D Sridhar Babu added that the state was prepared to offer full backing to international investors and pointed to Hyderabad’s growing presence as a host for GCCs across sectors such as med-tech, health-tech and hospitality.
Sanjay Kumar, special chief secretary for information technology, electronics, communications and industries, invited L’Oréal to also consider establishing manufacturing facilities in the state alongside the GCC.
According to the Facebook update from Telangana’s information and public relations department, Hieronimus responded favourably and indicated the company would examine the possibility of future investment in a production unit in Hyderabad.
