Russian shadow tankers face Baltic and North Seas ban in new EU crackdown
The European Union is drawing up plans to strike at Russia’s shadow fleet by banning 25 tankers from the Baltic and North Seas.
The proposal, seen by EUobserver, involves vessels regularly sailing the export route from northern Russia.
EU nations believe these tankers pose an environmental risk, or could be involved in cable-cutting incidents.
