EU unveils largest ever shadow fleet sanctions package
The European Union on Tuesday published its largest ever sanctions package aimed at Russia’s shadow fleet with 189 vessels targeted.
The package, the EU’s 17th, takes the number of vessels targeted to 342 with further measures aimed at companies linked to tanker operations and ship-to-ship oil transfers, the bloc said.
It also targeted the Russian insurer VSK, which has already been hit by the UK, and provides protection and indemnity cover for tankers involved in hauling Russian oil.
