Çelebi Aviation has announced the halt of its ground handling adn cargo operations at certain airports in India, following a directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) due to security issues.

On May 17, the company released a statement indicating its full cooperation with indian authorities, including the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and BCAS. They stressed that all previous operations adhered strictly to legal standards.

Established over six decades ago, Çelebi Aviation provides ground handling services at around 70 airports across six nations: Türkiye, Germany, Hungary, india, Indonesia, and Tanzania. The company boasts a workforce of about 16,000 employees worldwide.

The majority ownership (65%) lies with institutional investors from various countries including Canada and Singapore. Notable shareholders include actera Partners II L.P., wich holds half of the shares; Alpha Airport Services B.V., owning 15%; while the Çelebioğlu family retains 35% ownership.
