New Peoplemover Vehicles Set to Enhance Connectivity at Denver Airport
According to a recent announcement, Alstom has secured a $69 million contract to provide an additional 19 Innovia APM R automated peoplemover cars for Denver International Airport, bringing the total number of vehicles ordered to 45.
This partnership dates back to the airport’s inception in 1995 when Alstom began operating and maintaining the peoplemover system. The expansion is crucial as it aims to meet both current and anticipated passenger demands; in fact, Denver International Airport recorded an impressive 82.3 million travelers in 2024 and expects this figure to surpass 100 million annually by the year 2030.
The new cars will be produced at Alstom’s facility located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
“It’s exciting to witness the growth of Denver International Airport over the years,” remarked Michael Keroullé,President of Alstom Americas,on May 29. “We take pride in our collaboration with them as they navigate increasing passenger traffic daily. Expanding our Innovia APM fleet aligns perfectly with our mutual objective of providing reliable and lasting transportation solutions that cater to the airport’s remarkable expansion.”
