This vessel is carrying a significant amount of fuel adn hazardous materials, which raises serious environmental concerns. Out of the 22 crew members aboard, 18 were rescued from lifeboats; though, four individuals are still unaccounted for. This group includes two Taiwanese citizens along with one each from Myanmar and Indonesia. The ongoing efforts by the Indian Coast Guard have been focused on controlling the fire that has engulfed parts of the ship using both aerial and maritime resources. Despite their efforts to contain it, some areas within the vessel continue to smolder.

In response to this crisis, additional support has been coordinated by Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA). two firefighting vessels have been dispatched by local authorities alongside those provided by the ship’s owners. Furthermore, four ships and aircraft from the Indian Coast guard are actively participating in these rescue operations.
