As reported by Khaled Alkhawaldeh, the cargo commercial director at Royal Jordanian Airlines, the airline has officially resumed it’s flight services to Iraq and Syria. He enthusiastically announced on social media that their “cargo freighter is ready to serve you!”
The airline had previously halted all flights to various Iraqi cities—Baghdad, Erbil, Basra, and Sulaymaniyah—due to airspace limitations in the region untill June 24, 2025.
However, operations have now recommenced. Starting from June 25, 2025, Royal Jordanian’s flights to these Iraqi destinations are back in action.
The Amman-Damascus route was reestablished on January 31,2025. Initially offering four weekly flights, it ramped up to daily services by April of the same year. Additionally, services to Aleppo were reinstated on June 24 with three weekly flights.
By midweek following this proclamation, RJ was fully operational again for routes connecting both Damascus and Aleppo along with various locations in Iraq.
