According to a report from Bloomberg News dated July 6, 2025, an ammonia leak was detected at the Ust-Luga seaport in Russia’s Leningrad region during loading operations involving the LPG tanker Eco Wizard. The Transportation ministry announced that emergency services are actively addressing the situation via a statement on Telegram.

While officials characterized the leak as “minor,” they still held an urgent meeting at their Situational and Facts Center, led by Transport Minister Roman Starovoit.the vessel’s crew of 23 was safely evacuated, and plans for a diving inspection of the ship are underway. Regional governor Alexander Drozdenko reassured that there has been no adverse environmental impact from this incident.
