

Pilbara Ports has introduced a new program designed to improve the welfare of seafarers by providing free ship-wide WiFi access at the Port of Port Hedland.
The Ship WiFi Support Program, aims to replace the existing practice of individual SIM card recharges with a more advanced and inclusive internet solution.
Instead of each crew member receiving a separate data recharge, the new system will allow full ship access to the internet through a mobile WiFi setup.
This change means that all crew members onboard participating vessels will be able to connect to the internet, helping them stay in touch with their families and friends while in port or at anchorage.
The move is expected to support the mental health and overall wellbeing of seafarers, many of whom spend long periods away from home.
