

Australian authorities have seized almost 65 kilograms of cocaine, worth more than $21 million, from a shipping container in Brisbane. The joint operation was carried out by the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
The seizure took place on 24 October 2025 after ABF officers identified a suspicious container that had arrived from Panama. The shipment was declared as 20 packages containing 2,380 wooden slats.
When the container was X-rayed, officers noticed something unusual in its flooring. ABF detector dogs were brought in and gave a positive signal for drugs.
During a detailed inspection, officers found 108 bricks of a white substance wrapped in black plastic and hidden inside a steel cross beam under the container’s floor. Initial testing confirmed it was cocaine. The ABF then handed the case over to the AFP.
Forensic testing by the AFP confirmed that the total weight of the cocaine was 64.8 kilograms,
