World’s Biggest Car Carrier ‘BYD Shenzhen’ Undocked In China


BYD has launched the world’s largest vehicle carrier that can accommodate up to 9200 cars. The BYD Shenzhen, named after the company’s hometown, recently undocked from Yangzhou Port.
The 219 m long and 37.7 m wide ship has a maximum speed of 18.5 knots and a 9 m draft.
This addition to BYD’s fleet aligns with the company’s expansion strategy as it plans to increase its car carrier fleet to 8 ships by 2026.
