

The President of Venezuela’s National Assembly said that they will form a commission to investigate the United States’ deadly strikes on suspected drug trafficking boats off the Venezuelan shores and in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
The congressional Body’s President, Jorge Rodriguez, spoke on state television and said that the investigation would look into a report which stated that the U.S Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered that everyone on one of the boats should be killed in a strike in September.
A second strike was then carried out to kill the two remaining survivors.
He added that Venezuela would carry out a rigorous and deep investigation, adding that the country’s prosecutor’s office would be involved.
The U.S for months has carried out deadly strikes against suspected drug trafficking boats in the area.
Maduro and his government have denied involvement in the crime and have accused the U.S of seeking regime change out of a desire to control Venezuela’s oil reserves.
