The United States military carried out another strike on a suspected drug-smuggling boat in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, killing six men on board.
The attack was the 45th strike since the United States began targeting suspected drug boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific in early September.
The number of people killed in the US campaign against suspected drug boats has reached at least 156 since the strikes began in September.
The operations are part of a policy by the Trump administration to use military force against cartels operating along trafficking routes in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific.
According to US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), the strike took place on March 8 in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. The military said intelligence had identified the vessel travelling along known narco-trafficking routes.
SOUTHCOM said the boat was believed to be involved in drug-smuggling activities linked to designated terrorist organizations.
