The Liberian Registry has introduced two online platforms for seafarers, which will make applying for examinations, credentials and uploading documents easier and convenient.
The first platform will allow seafarers to easily apply for seafarer documents necessary for sailing on Liberian-flagged vessels at https://seafarers.liscr.com/.
The Registry has also completely modernised its licence exam and upgraded the process by formulating a new management system for eligible seafarers so they can take their licence examination online.
The platform, https://seafarerexam.liscr.com/, enables eligible seafarers who are working through approved training centres to take the exam from anywhere at any time.
Chief Operating Officer of the Liberian Ship and International Corporate Registry (LISCR), Alfonso Castillero, said, “These new platforms are a key part of Liberia’s continued implementation of technology.”
He added that COVID-19 and the restriction of travel have necessitated that the industry think outside the box and adapt to new technologies wherever possible.
