AD Ports and ASRY sign co-operation agreements

AD PORTS has signed three agreements with Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard to provide marine services in Bahrain to collaborate on strategic maritime and ports projects.

The new agreements follow the establishment of ASRY Marine, a joint venture between Noatum Maritime, part of AD Ports’ maritime and shipping cluster, and ASRY, that is focused on providing integrated marine services in Bahrain.

The first agreement covers drydock and shipyard facilities in order to boost the sector in Gulf Co-operation Council members and within the wider region.

The second, which includes India-based J M Baxi, focuses on green recycling, while the final agreement relates to exploring joint investments in ports and terminals.

“Following the successful formation of our recent joint venture with ASRY, we look forward to deepening our collaboration across the maritime realm,” said AD Ports chief executive Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi.

“We have already developed strong working ties, and this agreement opens the door to create more value and growth across our operations. Exploring opportunities to establish green ship recycling facilities is also very important for us, ensuring that vessels are retired in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.”
