PM Mitsotakis to Chair New Democracy’s Committee Meeting

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis the government committee of New Democracy will convene on Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. In an effort to put an end to the recent internal strife within the ruling party, Mitsotakis is expected to shift the focus toward the 2027 elections, making it clear that he intends to lead the party into the next political battle.

According to government sources, today’s meeting is seen as a crucial opportunity to halt internal disputes and reaffirm unity within the party. This follows an attempted political reset through a cabinet reshuffle, which failed to deliver the desired results, with the move being overshadowed by the dismissal of a deputy minister, while the situation further deteriorated after controversy erupted over announced salary increases for the Armed Forces.

During the meeting, Mitsotakis is expected to clarify the distinct roles of ministers, MPs, and party officials, while also setting clear boundaries for each.
