In the wake of Greece’s ruling party New Democracy’s recent cabinet reshuffle and the declining poll numbers for the ruling party, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has once again redistributed roles among the key players at the Maximos Mansion and New Democracy’s headquarters on Piraeus Street. This time, the focus is on the party’s communications.

New Democracy has picked former Deputy Minister of Energy Alexandra Sdoukou, who was left out of the new government lineup last month – to head the party’s communications as the new spokesperson.

Pavlos Marinakis remains both government spokesperson and Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister for media affairs, and veteran journalist Panos Amyras continues as Director General of Communication and Information.

Several other changes have been made, including a new Head of the PM’s press office, Director of Digital Communications, and Communications Advisor.  The rest of the team remains the same.

Each morning the Prime Minister meets with his innermost circle, known as the “morning coffee”, comprised of the Prime Minister, Deputy PM Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of State Akis Skertsos, Deputy Ministers Giorgos Mylonakis, Thanasis Kontogeorgis, and Pavlos Marinakis.

These daily meetings are followed by a strategy session led by Marinakis and, more recently, a second meeting in the afternoon
