As of Friday, April 25, 2025, the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) in Greece has automatically finalized pre-filled personal income tax returns for individual taxpayers. No immediate action is required from taxpayers unless they identify errors or omissions in the information provided.
What Are Pre-Filled Tax Returns?
Pre-filled tax returns are forms that include income and other relevant financial data automatically populated by the tax authority. For the 2025 tax year, AADE has finalized these returns, making it easier for taxpayers to comply without needing to manually enter most of their financial details.
What Should Taxpayers Do?
Although returns have been finalized automatically, taxpayers are strongly encouraged to review the information for completeness and accuracy. If any discrepancies or missing data are found, they can submit an amended return—without penalty—up until July 15, 2025. The amended return will replace the initial one.
Available Tax Discounts
Taxpayers who submit their returns earlier are eligible for discounts on the total tax due:
- 4%discount for returns submitted by April 30, 2025
- 3%discount for returns submitted between May 1 and June 16, 2025
- 2%discount for returns submitted between June 17 and July 15, 2025
