Dramatic rescue of injured crew from tanker by Super Puma in Chios

A Hellenic Air Force helicopter carried out a dramatic rescue of a 25-year-old crew member from a Liberian-flagged tanker in the wider sea area of ​​Chios, a Greek island situated in the northern Aegean Sea.

According to information from the Greek coast guard, a fishing vessel arrived in the area and picked up a 23-year-old man, also a crew member from the tanker, and transported him to the port of Chios. Both injured crew members required immediate hospital treatment.

As announced by a spokesman of the Hellenic Air Force, in the morning hours of Sunday, December 29, a super puma of the Air Force carried out a rescue mission (MEDEVAC), under bad weather conditions, of an injured person from a ship in the sea area of ​​Chios and transported him to the Chios state airport, where he was picked up by an EKAB ambulance.

Specifically, the Chios port authority was informed that two men, aged 25 and 23 crew
