Greek industrial and energy company METLEN has signed a 10-year Power
Greek industrial and energy company METLEN has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ENGIE, one of the world’s leading utilities in the energy transition. Under the deal, METLEN will supply ENGIE with clean electricity generated from six solar sites across the United Kingdom.
The solar portfolio covered by the agreement has a total capacity of 235 megawatts (MW) and will provide more than 233 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable electricity each year. According to the company, this output will help avoid over 52,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, making a significant contribution to the UK’s efforts to achieve its net-zero targets.
All six projects are being developed and executed by METLEN’s M Renewables division, which has become one of the leading contractors for solar and energy storage projects in the UK. Most of the sites are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025, with two additional installations slated for completion in 2026.
The PPA further strengthens METLEN’s growing portfolio of renewable offtake agreements across Europe and deepens its partnership with ENGIE. The companies aim to deliver flexible, reliable and low-carbon energy solutions to support the global transition to cleaner power systems.
