A horrific incident on a tanker in Greece took place on Monday afternoon after a 27-year-old crew member (Egyptian national) stabbed the captain and two other crew members.
A bloody incident occurred in the shipbuilding and repair zone of Perama, when the seaman of a Panama-flagged tanker attacked the 40-year-old captain and two more colleagues, aged 32 (seaman specialty) and 20 (cleaner specialty), with 2 knives, shocking the ship’s crew.
According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, the Egyptian was arrested by officials of the Perama Port Authority shortly after the bloody incident, for violation of Article 309 of the Criminal Code on “dangerous bodily harm.”
The two injured crew members and the captain, also Egyptian nationals, were initially taken to the Tzaneio General Hospital and then to a private clinic for medical treatment.
