Greek banks are moving into the festive rhythm, with their operating days and public holidays for the Christmas and New Year period already confirmed.

Customers can still be served today, Tuesday 24 December, Christmas Eve, as banks will remain open. However, branches will be closed to the public for the two-day Christmas holiday, on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 December-Boxing Day. Normal operations will resume on Friday 27 December.

A similar schedule will apply the following week. Banks will operate as usual on New Year’s Eve, but will remain closed on Thursday 1 January. They will reopen on Friday 2 January.

The final bank holiday of the festive season will be Tuesday 6 January, marking the Feast of Epiphany.
Customers are reminded that during the holiday period they can continue to carry out transactions via e-banking, mobile banking and ATMs. However, interbank transfers to other banks may be subject to delays due to official interbank holidays.
