With the launch of Greece’s new tax return season approaching, taxpayers who lack a Tax Identification Number (AFM) or access codes must obtain them digitally through the AADE’s myAADE portal in order to file returns.
AADE’s online services now allow individuals to receive both an AFM and a “kleidarithmos” (security code) in one process, while those who already hold an AFM can request or renew their access codes. A security code is automatically issued when a new AFM is granted, though minors who already received an AFM from AADE do not need one.
Through the myAADElive platform, taxpayers can complete the process via scheduled video appointments or instant video calls with the first available agent. Service is available only to individuals acting on their own behalf and requires valid identification documents presented during the call.
Requests cannot proceed if required documents are missing, personal records need updating, or residence permits are expired or unverifiable. In such cases, users may schedule an appointment to allow time to gather documents. Representation by third parties is not permitted.
Appointments open up to 15 days ahead, can be rescheduled or cancelled via confirmation emails, and require a device with camera
