It follows a close-to $55m commitment by the company in 2024 to expand its can manufacturing plant in Taloja, Maharashtra.

India’s beverage can market is projected to grow by more than 10% annually until 2030, driven by a rising consumer preference for sustainable and convenient packaging formats.

Ball Beverage Packaging EMEA [Europe, the Middle East and Africa] and Asia president Mandy Glew stated: “India is key to our global strategy and this investment reflects our focused approach to scaling operations in high-growth markets and securing long-term competitive advantage.

“Following our expansions in Taloja and Sri City, we are exploring further investments to support the continued growth of the Indian market as more brands and consumers are choosing aluminium packaging.”

Ball entered the Indian market in 2016 and operates facilities in Taloja and Sri City, supplying beverage can sizes ranging from 185ml to 500ml to domestic and global brands.

The company manufactures aluminium packaging for beverage, personal care and household products and has approximately 16,000 employees globally.
