Massachusetts Attorney General files lawsuit against Bitcoin Kiosk operator

BOSTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell filed a lawsuit against cryptocurrency kiosk operator Bitcoin Depot on Tuesday.

The attorney general alleges Bitcoin Depot used deceptive tactics to overcharge customers and knowingly facilitated crypto scams that robbed Massachusetts consumers of more than 10 million dollars.

The lawsuit claims the company refused refunds to victims and deceived investors about the extent of scam activity.

Now, Campbell is seeking a court order to stop Bitcoin Depot from accepting large transactions without better fraud prevention, and to force them to refund money to harmed customers.
