CK Hutchison’s earnings highlight necessity of terminals in liner shipping

CK Hutchison’s port operations experienced an 11% surge in sales in 2024, bringing its revenue almost on par in US dollar terms with Singapore’s PSA International, positioning both among the top revenue-generating global port groups.
The port operations of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison, controlled by tycoon Li Ka-shing, generated revenue of HK$45.28 billion (US$5.8 billion) in 2024. In comparison, PSA International’s 2024 revenue was up 9% year-on-year, to S$7.72 billion (US$5.69 billion)
