Bilateral deals will restructure supply chains

China will need to become less dependent on the US in future as the trading landscape undergoes a significant change, with an acceleration of bilateral deals and a modernising of supply chains.

In a webinar discussion entitled, “Global shipping in an era of uncertainty” Vespucci Maritime CEO Lars Jensen said that he believes Donald Trump’s decision-making appears to depend on how he is feeling on a particular day.

“He does not necessarily seem to be rooted in a long-term analysis of what developments are, and on that premise, I would expect uncertainty to simply continue.”
