Maersk and Saudi Post join forces

Maersk Saudi Arabia and Saudi Post Company (SPL) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance logistics and supply chain services for global eCommerce businesses operating in Saudi Arabia and across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The collaboration brings together Maersk’s international shipping and logistics infrastructure with Saudi Post’s vast domestic network to deliver an integrated end-to-end solution. The move is expected to simplify cross-border eCommerce flows, improve service levels, and create new opportunities for companies looking to enter or expand in the Middle East.
Under the agreement, Saudi Post will handle in-Kingdom operations, including customs clearance and last-mile delivery, while Maersk will oversee origin logistics, international transportation, and bonded fulfillment services. Operations will be anchored at Maersk’s recently launched Integrated Logistics Park in Jeddah, which is poised to become a key hub for regional logistics activity.
Ahmed Al Olaby, Director at Maersk Saudi Arabia, described the partnership as a timely response to the growing demand for efficient eCommerce fulfillment solutions in the Kingdom.
“We’re excited to partner with Saudi Post, which operates one of the strongest distribution networks in Saudi Arabia,” said Al Olaby.
The MoU outlines collaboration across four key areas: digital system integration, joint marketing initiatives, coordinated customer service, and operational optimization. The initiative is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, aiming to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional logistics gateway and attract international businesses to set up local operations.
