CMA CGM & AOA Polynesian Forests join forces to adress invasive plant spread

AOA Polynesian Forests and the CMA CGM Group have partnered to launch the ‘Fenua Florissant’ initiative.

This is a joint effort aimed at tackling one of French Polynesia’s most urgent environmental challenges: the aggressive spread of invasive plant species that threaten the region’s native biodiversity.

Through this collaboration, we are uniting our resources and expertise to halt the advance of these invasive species and to restore native ecosystems, reinforcing long-term ecological resilience across the islands.

As part of the program, US$1 will be donated to the CMA CGM Green Space initiative with AOA for every TEU imported to or exported from French Polynesia.

These contributions will fund the reforestation of one hectare of native land, which will be developed into an accessible green space featuring educational signage and observation points, providing a place for community learning, connection, and environmental stewardship.
