SANY accelerates smart equipment rollout

SANY is stepping up its shift to smart and low-carbon manufacturing. As part of its “Globalization, Digitalization, Decarbonization” strategy, the company is moving beyond traditional equipment to become a provider of intelligent, data-driven machines.

To get there, SANY is upgrading its core equipment with automation and digital tech. It has also rolled out smart manufacturing systems and digital operations across its global footprint. New intelligent research centers are now active at all SANY R&D hubs.

Using AI, big data, and Internet of Vehicles (IoV) technologies, SANY has built a growing line of smart machines designed for use across different sectors.

Smart Machines in Action

SANY’s intelligent equipment is already working in key industries like mining, energy, and urban infrastructure.

In Inner Mongolia, 40 autonomous mining trucks run 24/7 at a major coal site. In Kunming, unmanned loaders operate at a concrete plant. One of SANY’s fleet systems lets a 15-person team manage over 200 heavy trucks through smart coordination tools.

These systems allow SANY machines to think, make decisions, and work together, integrating hardware, software, and data into a single smart workflow.

Smart Road Machinery Makes Its Mark

SANY’s self-driving road machinery has become one of its top showcases. In July, over 600 customers from nearly 40 countries gathered in Changsha for SANY’s Global Road Machinery Premium Customer Summit. There, they watched an autonomous paving fleet in action.

The demo featured a self-driving paver laying 100 meters of asphalt with two double-drum rollers and two pneumatic rollers following automatically. The machines coordinated in real time, delivering high accuracy and smooth finishes.

SANY’s third-generation unmanned fleet now includes:

  • Precision Control – curb detection with zero-edge deviation

  • Enhanced Safety – LiDAR and camera fusion to avoid obstacles, cutting on-site labor by 60%

  • Smart Optimization – automatic compaction adjustments to maintain surface flatness under 0.75 mm

So far, the system has been used in more than 50 projects across China.
