Everllence and MEYER RE team up

MEYER RE has entered into a strategic partnership with Everllence to accelerate methanol retrofit solutions in shipping. The move is aimed at helping the industry cut emissions while meeting strict environmental regulations.
The cooperation will focus on converting existing Everllence four-stroke engines and vessels to run on methanol. The companies say this approach offers a cost-effective and scalable pathway for shipowners moving toward greener fuels.
Bernd Siebert, Head of Retrofit & Upgrade at Everllence, said the agreement lays the foundation for “strong, trusting, and sustainable cooperation” and offers customers “an economically attractive opportunity” to future-proof older engines.
Henning Jongebloed, Head of Sales at MEYER RE, highlighted the complexity of cruise vessel retrofits. “These ships operate like small cities. Changing just an engine or fuel is not enough. A holistic approach is necessary,” he said.
The partnership will develop a detailed roadmap for methanol adoption. This includes ship retrofits, fuel infrastructure, and new safety and operational standards for the industry.
With this alliance, MEYER RE and Everllence are positioning themselves at the forefront of the sector’s shift toward cleaner, more sustainable operations.
