Coca-Cola HBC installs Mecalux Pallet Shuttle in Lisburn

Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland has installed Mecalux’s semi-automated Pallet Shuttle system at its Knockmore Hill facility in Lisburn. The new finished-goods warehouse can store 9,000 pallets, improving putaway, dispatch, and inventory control.

The facility, which opened in 2010 and runs nine production lines, supplies Coca-Cola brands across the island of Ireland.

The system uses four motorised shuttles that automatically store and retrieve pallets once placed in the storage channels. Operators control the process via tablet, streamlining operations and saving time.

“This technology helps us optimise customer service and operate cost-effectively,” said Karl Quinlivan, Logistics Route to Market Manager. “It’s a step toward Industry 4.0, enhancing efficiency and quality across our logistics.”
