MSC announces new rates from Far East to North Europe, Mediterranean, and Black Sea

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has published new base freight rates from all Far East ports, including Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia, to North Europe, the Mediterranean, Adriatic, North Africa, and Black Sea destinations. The revised Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates will apply from 15 October 2025 until further notice, but not beyond 31 October 2025.

Rates are base port to base port. Out-ports are subject to usual TAO/TAD adjustments.

Inclusive surcharges:

  • GFS (Global Fuel Surcharge): USD 98/TEU, valid October 2025

  • ECA (Emission Control Area): USD 15/TEU for MED and North Europe (Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, UK, Netherlands, France), USD 52/TEU for other Nordic and Baltic countries

Subject to:

  • CLS (Carbon Limitation Surcharge): USD 20/TEU

  • CRS (Carbon Review Surcharge): USD 77/TEU (MED), USD 52/TEU (North Europe)

MSC noted that FAK rates exclude all IMO Category commodities and high-value commodities. Terminal Handling Charges and other applicable surcharges may also apply. Customers are advised to contact their local MSC office for further details.
