Kuehne+Nagel expands cross-border fleet to strengthen Southeast Asia network

Kuehne+Nagel is expanding its cross-border transport capabilities in Southeast Asia with a new fleet of prime movers in Thailand. The move builds on the company’s 2024 acquisition of City Zone Express, a logistics provider active in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and China.

The investment aims to meet growing demand for reliable, scalable regional transport, especially for e-commerce and high-tech industries. The rollout will take place in three phases, the first batch is already operating, while the next two will launch in January and April 2026. Once complete, the fleet will include around 40 prime movers and 100 containers, giving customers more flexibility and capacity across ASEAN.

“Customers in fast-growing sectors like e-commerce and high-tech can benefit from customised road logistics solutions, real-time visibility, and multimodal options,” said David Roussiere, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. “As supply chains evolve, we’re helping businesses stay resilient, cut costs, and reach their sustainability goals.”

Thailand’s Ministry of Transport has invested over USD 64 billion in infrastructure since 2022, including new highways and logistics networks. The ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS) also continues to simplify cross-border operations across Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, boosting regional trade efficiency.

With this fleet expansion, Kuehne+Nagel strengthens its role in modernising ASEAN logistics, offering faster, more reliable transport and supporting the region’s growing trade ambitions.
