Brussels Mærsk joins Maersk fleet with dual-fuel capability
Maersk has officially welcomed Brussels Mærsk into its fleet, marking a key step in the company’s sustainability journey. The vessel, now fully operational, moves from blueprint to open seas, ready to serve global trade routes.
Equipped with a dual-fuel engine, Brussels Mærsk can operate on both bio- and e-methanol, supporting Maersk’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to greener fuels.

The vessel was ceremoniously named by Ms. Yeon Ji Lee, Maersk Site Office Administrator, serving as godmother and lending a personal touch to the milestone.
Brussels Mærsk was constructed through a collaboration with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Everllence, combining innovative shipbuilding expertise with cutting-edge sustainable technology.

This addition reflects Maersk’s ongoing strategy to modernize its fleet with energy-efficient and environmentally responsible vessels, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable shipping.
