SRSA and Jeddah Municipality launch new patrol boats
The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) and Jeddah Municipality have signed an Integrated Coastal Collaboration Framework aimed at improving regulatory coordination, enhancing marine surveillance, and supporting sustainable tourism along Jeddah’s coastline.
The agreement was signed in the presence of H.E. Dr. Fahad Toonsi, Chairman of SRSA’s Board of Directors, by H.E. Eng. Saleh Al-Turki, Mayor of Jeddah, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Nasser, CEO of SRSA, at the Municipality’s headquarters.
Under the framework, SRSA will develop and implement regulations, guidelines, and compliance codes governing marine and tourism activities, while Jeddah Municipality will oversee on-ground implementation, inspections, and reporting across the coastal stretch from Al-Sathah Center in Rabigh to Al-Kadouf Center in Al-Qunfudhah.
Coinciding with the signing, Jeddah Municipality launched 15 new marine patrol boats at its South Obhur marina. The new fleet will enhance environmental and marine monitoring, strengthen rescue operations, and contribute to preserving Jeddah’s coastal ecosystems.
This initiative marks a key step in advancing SRSA’s mission to foster inter-agency collaboration, safeguard marine environments, and promote sustainable coastal development across the Red Sea region.
