Amer Shipping contracts Concordia Damen for CDS 110
Concordia Damen has signed a newbuild contract with Amer Shipping for a CDS 110 Dry Cargo vessel. The agreement was finalized during the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam, where Concordia Damen gathered with other Damen divisions to meet clients and partners.
This order extends the successful partnership between the two companies, following the previous deliveries of the AM Voyager, AM Explorer, and Johannes Senior. Like its predecessors, the new vessel is based on Concordia Damen’s in-house developed CDS 110 design, known for efficiency, sustainability, and reliable performance on European waterways.
The 110-metre by 11.45-metre vessel features a shallow draught and high cargo capacity, enabling dependable operations even during low-water periods. Its advanced hull design reduces resistance, fuel consumption, and emissions—significantly lowering environmental impact.
Amer Shipping, one of the Netherlands’ leading inland shipping companies with a fleet of nearly 60 vessels, continues to invest in sustainable fleet renewal and collaborative supply-chain partnerships.
“We believe all stakeholders should play an active role in their own supply chain and that of customers and partners,” says Peter Buijks, co-owner of Amer Shipping.
He added:
“In transport, reliable service is essential. We manage maintenance, planning and technical support ourselves—but that requires a fleet of high-quality vessels. With the CDS Dry Cargo 110, we can transport 200 tonnes more cargo compared to other 110-metre vessels. This new CDS 110 directly supports our long-term vision for efficient, low-emission logistics across Europe’s inland network.”
