Wärtsilä to supply integrated LNG systems for new bunker vessel

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions will provide fully integrated systems for a new LNG bunkering vessel being built at Jiangnan Shipyard in China for Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) Energy Shanghai Co. The scope includes the cargo handling system, fuel gas supply system, and a boil-off gas reliquefaction system (Compact Reliq – CRS) to ensure optimal efficiency. The order was booked in Q3 2025.

He Bin, Vice General Manager of SIPG Energy Service, said: “After over 200 LNG bunkerings in the past three and a half years using Wärtsilä systems, we are confident in their performance and chose them again for this project.”

Barry Yang, General Manager Sales, China, Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, added: “Demand for LNG as marine fuel is growing. We supply reliable systems that optimize cargo handling efficiency. Working closely with the owner and shipyard, we are implementing improvements to elevate performance.”

The Wärtsilä equipment will be delivered to the shipyard in 2026, with the vessel expected to enter service in summer 2027.
