Hapag-Lloyd opens new office in Oman
Hapag-Lloyd has opened a new office in Muscat, strengthening its position in the Middle East and improving support for customers in Oman. The move enhances the carrier’s regional network at a time when Oman’s economy is expanding under its Vision 2040 diversification strategy.
With more than 5.5 million people and projected GDP growth of up to 3.1% in 2025, Oman is becoming a more important logistics hub. Its ports handled over 4 million TEUs in 2024, with Sohar serving as a key gateway and Salalah operating as a major transshipment hub within Hapag-Lloyd’s Gemini Cooperation network.
“Oman combines strategic location, strong infrastructure, and a dynamic economy,” said Lars Sorensen, Senior Managing Director Region Middle East. “Our new Muscat office allows us to work even more closely with customers and support Oman’s growing role in regional trade.”
The new office underscores Hapag-Lloyd’s long-term commitment to providing reliable, efficient shipping services across the Gulf region.
