A.P. Moller – Maersk names Robert Erni as new CFO
A.P. Moller – Maersk has appointed Robert Erni as its next Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board. He will replace Patrick Jany, who steps down after six years in the role.
Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc thanked Jany for his service and leadership. Jany will manage the year-end closing and the annual report, scheduled for release on 5 February. The handover will then take effect in Q1.
Jany said he was proud to contribute during a period of major change for the company and wished Maersk continued success.
Erni, a Swiss national, brings more than 30 years of financial leadership experience in the global logistics sector. He spent two decades at Kuehne+Nagel in senior finance roles across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. He later served as Group CFO at Panalpina and, most recently at Dachser.
Clerc said Erni has “deep roots in the global logistics sector” and a strong record in driving efficiency and growth. He added that Erni’s international background and leadership skills make him “an excellent fit” for Maersk.
Erni said he is excited to join a company he has long followed. He praised Maersk’s strategy and said its culture aligns closely with his own values.
