Hapag-Lloyd to raise ocean tariff rates from India and Pakistan to Europe
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase in its ocean tariff base rates for dry containers moving from India and Pakistan to Europe and the Mediterranean, effective for sailings starting on 16 February 2026.
The rate adjustment applies to cargo shipped from Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, as well as Karachi and Port Qasim in Pakistan, to destinations in North Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
For 20-foot dry containers, base rates from Nhava Sheva and Mundra to North Europe will increase from USD 690 to USD 1,090, while rates from Karachi and Port Qasim to North Europe will rise from USD 890 to USD 1,290.
Shipments from Nhava Sheva and Mundra to the Mediterranean and Black Sea will increase from USD 847 to USD 1,047, with the same increase applied to cargo from Karachi and Port Qasim on the same trade.
For 40-foot dry containers, base rates from Nhava Sheva and Mundra to North Europe will rise from USD 330 to USD 730, while rates from Karachi and Port Qasim to North Europe will increase from USD 430 to USD 830. On the Mediterranean and Black Sea trade, rates from both Indian and Pakistani origins will increase from USD 394 to USD 594.
Hapag-Lloyd said the revised base rates will apply to sailings commencing from 16 February 2026, in line with its updated tariff structure for the affected trade lanes.
