MSC to launch new Eagle service

MSC is set to launch its new Australia/New Zealand–US East Coast Eagle service next week, expanding its transpacific and inter-regional network.

The service, first announced in July 2025, will be operated with eleven vessels in the 2,500 to 4,500 TEU capacity range. In a change from earlier plans, the rotation will also include Wellington as a port of call.

Under the full rotation, the Eagle service will cover Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Wellington, Tauranga, Balboa, Colon (Cristobal), Philadelphia, Savannah, Freeport, Balboa, Papeete, Auckland, before returning to Sydney.

The new service is expected to strengthen MSC’s connectivity between Australia, New Zealand, and the US East Coast, offering additional routing options for shippers across the trade lane.
