Gebrüder Weiss sustains growth momentum

Gebrüder Weiss closed 2025 with net revenues of US$ 3.17 billion, demonstrating resilience in a difficult operating environment characterised by subdued economic conditions across its core Central European markets.

The company maintained an equity ratio exceeding 60% for the second consecutive year, reflecting the financial solidity underpinning its continued investment programme. The workforce remained stable at approximately 8,600 employees.

CEO Wolfram Senger-Weiss acknowledged the challenging climate while highlighting the company’s ability to grow and invest simultaneously as evidence of organisational strength.

He noted that Europe remains the primary focus of operations and capital allocation, while the group continues to pursue strategic expansion in international growth markets.

European land transport, the group’s largest segment, generated revenues of EUR€1.55 billion, a modest improvement on the EUR€1.52 billion recorded in 2024.

Despite a marginal revenue decline in Germany, the company gained additional market share there and also strengthened its position across Eastern Europe. Home Delivery operations performed positively, with consignment volumes rising to 1.36 million from 1.31 million in the prior year.

The Air and Sea division saw volume growth, particularly on Europe-Asia and intra-Asian routes, with e-commerce trade between China and Europe providing impetus to air freight demand.

However, lower freight rates across both modes weighed on revenues, which declined slightly to EUR€913 million from EUR€929 million in 2024.

Contract logistics and supply chain management revenues grew 7% to EUR€147 million, driven by tailored customer solutions and data-driven supply chain optimisation.

DPD Austria, in which Gebrüder Weiss holds a partial stake, also expanded its activity, with parcel volumes rising 3.6% to 64.6 million units.
