Wärtsilä appoints IKAD Engineering as Australia distributor

Wärtsilä Corporation Water & Waste, part of Wärtsilä, has appointed IKAD Engineering as its authorised distributor in Australia. IKAD will supply spare parts, products, and technical support across the region. The agreement makes IKAD the main in-country channel for Wärtsilä Water & Waste equipment and spare parts. The move strengthens Wärtsilä’s local service for operators using wastewater treatment and vacuum sanitation systems in marine environments.

“Establishing a strong local presence in Australia is an important step,” says Fraser Scott, Managing Director, Wärtsilä Water & Waste. “IKAD Engineering understands the Australian maritime and defence sectors. Their appointment gives our customers, including the Royal Australian Navy, faster access to genuine spares and local support.”

The partnership will also create new business opportunities. IKAD will promote Wärtsilä’s full range of water and waste solutions. These include sewage treatment plants, vacuum toilet systems, and grey water treatment units. The company will target shipowners, operators, and defence programmes across Australia.

“Australia is a key market,” Scott adds. “Demand is growing in both naval and commercial shipping sectors. With IKAD, we can deliver the same level of service our customers expect globally.”

The agreement supports Wärtsilä Water & Waste’s strategy to expand its local distributor network. The company aims to improve access to spare parts, expertise, and solutions in key markets.

Ivan Donjerkovich, Managing Director, IKAD Engineering, says: “Wärtsilä Water and Waste leads in marine environmental technologies. We are proud to become its authorised distributor in Australia. This partnership strengthens our ability to support complex marine and defence systems.”

He adds: “Australia’s marine sector needs reliable and compliant wastewater solutions. Together, we will deliver Wärtsilä’s technologies with strong local support.”
