Cathay Group suspends Middle East operations
In response to the ongoing and volatile situation in the Middle East, the Cathay Group has announced the suspension of all regional operations. This decision affects both passenger and freighter services, with rerouting measures already in place for flights transiting the affected airspace.
Scope of service suspensions The suspension impacts primary hubs in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia:
-
Passenger Services: All flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh are suspended. This measure is effective from February 28, 2026, through May 31, 2026.
-
Freighter Services: Cargo operations to and from Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) in Dubai are also suspended.
Operational adjustments and monitoring To ensure safety and continuity, Cathay is rerouting flights that normally transit the affected area. The group is closely monitoring the situation, noting that conditions may change at short notice.
