ADNOC L&S takes delivery of sixth LNG carrier to expand global fleet

ADNOC Logistics & Services has taken delivery of its sixth next-generation LNG carrier. The vessel strengthens the company’s global energy transport capacity.

The ship has a capacity of 175,000 cubic metres. Jiangnan Shipyard in China built the vessel. It is part of a $1.2 billion fleet expansion programme launched in 2022.

Each cargo can deliver about 1.1 TWh of energy. This equals the winter gas demand of around 100,000 households in Central Europe.

“Each new carrier strengthens our ability to deliver energy reliably across global routes,” said Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S. “We continue to expand our fleet in line with customer demand.”

The company has secured most of the new capacity under long-term contracts. Around 60% of its revenue comes from long-term agreements, including its AW Shipping joint venture.

The vessel, named Al Taweelah, uses advanced energy-efficient technology. It can cut methane emissions by up to 50% compared to older ships.

ADNOC L&S continues to grow its fleet. It has seven Very Large Ethane Carriers and four Very Large Ammonia Carriers under construction through AW Shipping.

The company has also ordered eight additional LNG carriers from South Korean shipbuilders. These investments support its long-term growth and strengthen its role in global energy supply chains.
