AD Ports Group explores Azerbaijan logistics partnership with AZCON Holding
AD Ports Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AZCON Holding to explore joint development of transport and logistics infrastructure in Azerbaijan.
The agreement sets a framework for cooperation across ports, shipping, logistics, and digital trade solutions. Both sides will assess investment opportunities and work on integrated infrastructure projects, including maritime and digital systems.
The partnership supports AD Ports Group’s strategy to strengthen trade corridors between Central Asia and Europe. Azerbaijan’s location along the Middle Corridor makes it a key transit hub linking East and West.
Abdulaziz Zayed AlShamsi, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, said the deal will help build more efficient and connected trade routes. He highlighted the company’s integrated capabilities across ports, maritime services, and logistics.
AZCON Holding’s Deputy Executive Director, Vugar Mirzazada, said the collaboration could boost Azerbaijan’s role as a regional logistics hub. He noted opportunities in port development, shipbuilding, multimodal transport, and digital integration.
The MoU follows the entry into force of the UAE-Azerbaijan CEPA on 15 April 2026. The agreement aims to increase trade, reduce tariffs, and support investment between the two countries.
Non-oil trade between the UAE and Azerbaijan has already grown strongly, rising over 30% in the past two years to exceed $2.2 billion in 2025.
AD Ports Group continues to expand its presence in Central Asia, investing in ports, logistics assets, and shipping services to strengthen regional connectivity and support growing trade flows between Asia and Europe.
