Maersk blanks Northern Star sailing
Maersk has announced a seasonal blanking on its Northern Star service, affecting the Capitaine Baret on voyages 628S

Maersk has announced a seasonal blanking on its Northern Star service, affecting the Capitaine Baret on voyages 628S southbound and 631N northbound. The decision has been attributed to cargo seasonality and demand fluctuations on the Asia-Oceania corridor.

The southbound voyage 628S is scheduled to depart Shanghai on July 12, 2026, while the northbound voyage 631N is set to sail from Tauranga on August 22, 2026.

With the exception of Brisbane-bound cargo, all affected bookings will be transferred to the next available vessel and voyage. For Brisbane cargo specifically, Maersk has arranged ad hoc coverage from Shanghai and Hong Kong, ensuring a consistent weekly departure to the Australian port is maintained throughout the blanking period.
