DHL eCommerce and USPS sign exclusive agreement worth over US$10 billion
DHL eCommerce and United States Postal Service have signed a new exclusive multi-year agreement for last-mile parcel delivery services in the United States valued at more than US$10 billion.
The agreement extends a 25-year partnership between the two organizations and strengthens DHL eCommerce’s position in the U.S. parcel market.
Under the deal, DHL eCommerce will continue managing pickup, sortation and linehaul operations through its network before USPS completes final-mile delivery.
DHL said its U.S. network includes 19 automated hubs supported by air and ground transportation infrastructure.
USPS will provide last-mile delivery access across more than 41,550 ZIP codes and over 170 million delivery points six days per week.
“This agreement creates a dependable, long-term platform for our customers,” said Scott Ashbaugh, CEO of DHL eCommerce Americas.
He added that using USPS’ nationwide delivery network helps reduce additional vehicles on the road and supports emissions reduction goals.
Postmaster General and CEO David Steiner described the deal as a major milestone that strengthens operational alignment and expands customer access to USPS’ network capabilities.
DHL said the agreement positions both organizations for long-term growth as e-commerce parcel volumes continue rising across the U.S.
