Molslinjen adds second battery-powered ferry to the fleet

Turkish shipbuilder Cemre Shipyard has handed over the second battery-powered RoRo passenger ferry to Danish operator Molslinjen.

The delivery of Tyrfing, announced on October 23, rounds off Moslinjen’s order of two zero-emission double-ended 11.6-meter-long ferries placed at the Turkish shipyard in 2022.

The first ferry, Nerthus, was delivered in May 2025. The ferry is equipped with four steerable thrusters, which are driven by electrical permanent magnet motors, and four backup generators, each of 493 ekW fueled by hydrogenated vegetable oil.
